- Vintage sunglasses from the 80s by PERSOL, model 009. Opaque tortoise frame with the tipical MEFLECTO flexible system, designed for a maximum comfort. Original lenses with the subtleround PERSOL mark in the upper corners of the lenses. The PERSOL 009 model was originally designed by Persol to meet a request from NASA in the early 1960s. The unique feature of these sunglasses are the extra side-shield lenses to provide eye protection from the sides. In very good vintage condition.

Persol
Always been one of the best, in style, in quality, but mostly in fashion. Born in 1917 - brand created by Giuseppe Ratti - initially designed for aviators & sportsmen. They very soon became famous in all our peninsula (one year later, Gabriele D'Annunzio wore a pair - designed and created for the occasion - during his famous flight above Vienna (1918).
Interesting to know is their name, which comes from 2 Italian words: "PER" and "SOLE", which means "for the sun".
In the 90s Persol was bought from Luxottica, International leader in sunglasses & lenses.
Persol's most famous model, "649" was requested by many Persol fans who needed a sunglass pair which would protect their eyes from dust, sun & wind. Marcello Mastroianni's most popular pictures immortalized Persol's 649 models, in various colors.
OPHERTY & CIOCCI's Persol collection features many "6" & "8" Persol's Vintage models, including their 649, and their famous "foldable" edition.
Steve McQueen, Greta Garbo, Messner, and some of our Italian actors/models such as Ornella Muti and Carol Alt are only a few of Persol fans.
